Basset Hound Personality Traits
Basset hounds have many personalities to them, they tend to be a stubborn breed which require lots of time to train. They are considered to be a natural hunter. They will not listen commands or grasp things easily. When they are left alone for a longer period they don’t respond well, you may leave your dog with other animals it mingles easily with them. Its more of a lap dog, rather than a security dog. The Basset hound is fond of playing with kids.
They have a sharp nose which helps it pick up scents when hunting or retrieving. Most puppies love to over eat which is why they are so lazy. So it has to be exercised daily. Their weight must be checked often to keep it fit and avoid it being over weight. While talking about its external appearance, its body is covered with a bi-color or tri-colored fur coat. The colors are usually white, tan or black. They are known for their big droopy ears.
basset hounds are one of the most beautiful dogs. they are fantastic with kids, and the become very attached to their owner(s). i suggest definatly getting one. but if you are usually away or not at home basset hounds health rapidly decreases.
our basset hound is a female and she has had 4 litters of gorgeous puppies. if anything basset hound would be one of the most lovable dogs.
but bassets cost around $1000 and eat a lot. they need a large enclosed backyard to mantain physical health andi suggest keeping them as an outside dog as they may become very attached to the couch.
